In this lesson, you’ll learn how to find and validate the right niche for your cold email campaigns.
You’ll discover how to score potential markets, identify niches that are actively looking for solutions, and organize customer insights into a clear research system. Hi, welcome to Chapter 3.
Over the next 14 to 21 days you will go from guessing who to email to
KNOWING exactly which prospects to target and WHAT to say.
Finally, you will launch your first campaigns to find your first leads.
Your warm-up is now running.
This means you have about 14 to 21 days to prepare your campaigns.
I would recommend waiting three weeks, but 14 days is the very minimum.
In the next chapter we will write your emails and launch the campaigns.
Writing good emails is hard and starting from a blank page makes it even harder.
This chapter will solve that.
So, in this chapter you will:
Score 3–5 possible company niches on six clear factors.
Spot which niche is hungry for a solution right now.
Test if that niche is reachable by email.
Tag its Awareness and Sophistication; so you speak their language.
Organize every quote, pain, and objection in a Voice-of-Customer bank.
Write at least two strong value propositions and angles, each.
And lastly, plan four sequences so you can launch as soon as your warm-up ends.
I will be guiding you step-by-step.
With every lesson we will be filling out your workbook.
By the end, it will have your niche selection, your ICP sheet, the sequence planner and…
Many different databases around outreach angles, copy frameworks, CTA’s and PS scripts.
It will serve as your central hub for all the planning throughout the course.
You will feel in control and well organized when launching your first campaigns.
I have one request before we proceed though.
From experience I know if I don’t book time for something, it won’t happen.
So please:
pause the lesson, open your calendar,
and book five two-hour slots over the next 14 to 21 days.
This way, even if business gets busy, you will be reminded to get this done.
Okay great!
So the reason why I am so adamant about starting with your niche and doing this research.
Is because, I often see clients try to optimize copy, subject lines, and many other things.
They try and try and try and results don’t change much.
Sometimes pivoting to a different niche can do wonders.
Let me give you a quick analogy as to why.
Imagine building your cold-email strategy on this tiny rock.
Every extra layer – deliverability, copy, timing – must be perfect or it falls apart.
That is what happens when you target the wrong niche.
Now look at a strong foundation.
A niche that already WANTS what you offer. Here:
Imperfect emails get replies,
engagement stays high,
and you actually get to speak to your potential clients.
Targeting the right niche forgives mistakes;
a weak one demands perfection.
So how do we find that strong foundation?
We will borrow from Philip Kotler’s classic segmentation checks.
Will use Alex Hormozi’s “Pain-Money-Growth” lens.
Do a quick Gary Halbert starving-crowd test.
And apply Eugene Schwartz’s timeless Awareness & Sophistication ladders.
Those four experts give us proven frameworks that work; not only in cold email.
Then we layer in a decade of Woodpecker deliverability data
and thousands of real campaigns
to turn theory into practice.
You will know what to write, who to write, and how to write to cut through the noise.
So, in the following lessons you will see these frameworks in action,
filling out your workbook step-by-step.
That is all for the introduction.
If you haven’t yet, please book your five, two hours timeblocks over the next 14 to 21 days.
When you are ready, move on to Lesson 2, where we start scoring your niches.
See you there.
