What is Lead Finder?

Woodpecker’s Lead Finder is a feature that allows you to find leads directly in the Woodpecker app and add them directly to your database or campaign. It gives you access to the biggest B2B database of potential buyers, which can be found by specifying what is needed with available filters. You’ll be able to search for leads either by filtering them individually or by company.

To use it to a full extent, i.e., adding found leads to the Woodpecker database, you’ll need to have Lead Finder credits. A default option we offer is 400 credits for free per month.

How to use it?

Leads tab

At the top bar of the app, you’ll see a tab called “Lead Finder”. You’ll also see the option to use Lead Finder when adding prospects to a campaign or database – after clicking on the option to add them “From Lead Finder”, you’ll be redirected to the Lead Finder tab. Here, you can search for your leads using various filters.

You can choose from a few existing filters, i.e., Current job title, Past job title, Country, Industry, Department, Seniority, and filters regarding Companies. If you have a suggestion for another, you can tell us in the form.

If you don't find results when searching with job title abbreviations, like "HR," "CEO," "CFO," etc., try writing the full name of the title or start adding all filters once again.

Every filter has a few options, and you can choose whether to include them or exclude them from the search. This should be especially useful when looking for someone who, for example, works in Sales and has never worked as a Copywriter (or at least has no information on it on their LinkedIn profile). Filters can always be cleared and applied again with different criteria. You can also remove or add some individually to the search.

After choosing every filter, click the “Apply” button and wait until the prospects are found.

When the list is complete, you can choose which leads you want to find their email addresses and other data for and add them to a campaign or database. After clicking on their name, a sidebar with the data found so far will appear.

Either select a few leads and find their email addresses in bulk, then add them to Woodpecker, or select each individually and choose whether to add them.

If you choose to add a lead to a campaign, you’ll be able to select whether to include them in an already existing one or create a new campaign directly there.

If a lead email has been found and added to Woodpecker, tags will indicate where it was added—to the main database, to the campaign, or both.

Companies tab

From the ‘Companies’ tab, you can identify high-potential companies before reaching out to individual contacts. Filter, segment, and analyze the organizations that best fit your ICP, then find the right people within them.

The filters under this tab are divided into two categories: Company identity and Location.

In Company identity, you can search for companies by their name, industry, website, LinkedIn URL, tags, company type, year they were founded, and employee count.

The Company industry filter is more detailed than the one in the “Leads” tab – you can search by very specific industries here, as you can check from the suggested dropdown list.

Tags are very literal, so if you write “cold mail” and no results show up, try “cold email”. These are taken from what the companies describe themselves as on their websites and social profiles.

In Location, you can filter them by the country, region/state, and city. For Company region, the region depends on the selected country – for example, US states, Polish voivodeships, German federal states, or Danish regions. All region names must be written in English for Lead Finder to find them.

Once you select some filters, you’ll see a green dot next to the selected filter, and they will also be visible at the top of the table. If you decide to clear all your search filters, you can do so by just clicking on the “Clear” option next to the “Filters”, which will remove them all at once.

You can’t add data directly from the Companies tab – you’ll have to find leads from them. To do so, click on the “Find leads” button on the right, which will transport you to the “Leads” tab.

Important here: if you already have some search results in the “Leads” tab and you choose to select new ones from the “Companies” tab, the old searches will be reset, and replaced – you will be informed about this just before switching between tabs.

Credits usage

You get 400 lead finder credits for free to start. The next packages are priced accordingly, with higher credit packages having bonus credits. Lead finder credits are used for each displayed company, each displayed lead, and each enriched lead (email found).

Credits usage is calculated as described here:

  • Viewing a company costs 2 credits

  • Viewing a lead costs 1 credit

  • Finding an email costs 1,5 credits

It’s up to you how many company searches, lead views, and email finds you use to find leads.

After scrolling down in the Subscription tab, you will see the bar showing the usage of credits for Lead Finder. If you wish to change the number of credits, click on the "Change" link. You'll also find this bar at the top-right corner of the Lead Finder tab, with a tooltip and an icon to change your pricing plan.

You will then be moved to the panel, where you can choose how many credits to purchase. After confirming the payment, you will be charged a prorated amount.

The new limits will be available from the current monthly session (if on a monthly plan) immediately after confirming the payment process. Old limits and new limits do not combine.

Search limit

For every Lead Finder credits package, there's a search limit. As Woodpecker's Lead Finder is only a search engine and not strictly a database, we also have our limitations on its use. In order not to use up the limit too quickly, each account using the Lead Finder has its limitations for searching for leads.

FAQ

Q.: How large is the database used by the Lead finder?

We have access to a database of over 1 billion contacts/buyers data.

Q.: How will I know how many credits I still have? Will I be informed when I’ve used it all?

The credits left on your account are visible in the Billing tab, under the Subscription plan.

If you’ve used all credits, after trying to add leads to your database, a notification will pop up with the information on no credits left for the current billing session, and their renewal in next monthly session.

You’ll also be notified at the moment of adding leads to a campaign or database when, for example, you’ve selected 10 leads but you only have 1 credit left – notification on the 9 leads exceeding the limit will be visible in the window.

Q.: What happens if I find a lead that is already in my database? Will any credits be used to enrich them?

Suppose you find a lead that you've already enriched and added to the database earlier, and select it with other leads for enrichment. In that case, the ones already in your database won't be added again. As for credits usage, no credits will be used for such leads.

Q.: Will I know if the email addresses found by Lead finder are safe to send to?

Every lead that turns prospect when added to your database or a campaign will have a tag added to them. One of these is the “Lead finder” tag, which is the information that this address was found by this system.

The other ones are “Risky” and “Personal”. The “Risky” tag means this email address is risky and this lead could be bounced. The “Personal” tells you that this email address is not a business email address, so in the end you have to decide whether to contact them.

All email addresses will be validated with Bouncer before sending them a message from the campaign.
