How it works
Our snippets are a way to personalize your emails without having to edit the whole content of a message. You can use them with their default names, such as SNIPPET_1, SNIPPET_2, up to SNIPPET_15, or change the custom field’s name to the one that suits you best.
To do so, go to your Account Settings. Click on the Company settings tab, and choose Snippet labels from the list on the left.
There you can see the list of all fifteen snippet names that you can easily edit. Choose the one you’d like to rename and click on the ‘edit’ icon. Write your choice in the ‘Field name’ and click on the SAVE button afterward.
A changed field name can be something to help you categorize your prospects, for example, specific branches, CEOs, CTOs, or simply broader context messages such as “Greetings” or “opening intro”.
Keep in mind you won’t be able to change the name to something similar that is already in the database, so for example you can’t rename Snippet 3 to Snippet 2, or to the Name that is already our fixed snippet available by default. The App will not allow you to save such a change by displaying a message You can’t create a snippet alias with this name.
When you go to the main Prospects tab and scroll to your snippets in the table, you’ll see the changed name there. If you hover on the field name, the background of it will be greyed out, which means it can be edited.
After clicking on the name, you will be transferred to the “Snippet labels” tab, so the process can be repeated.
When creating the email content in your campaign, click on the curly brackets {{ }} icon to show snippets. Custom fields with changed names will be visible there, so you don’t have to check it every time in the settings.
Troubleshooting
After inputting those changed custom fields in your message, it is advised to preview the campaign before running it.
In the preview, you can always see if there is a missing snippet in any email from your campaign, as the App displays it in red. In this case, you can always go back to editing and fill in the missing snippets in your prospects database, or remove it from the message.
Keep in mind that customizing the email from the preview level works only for Step 1 of the campaign.
