What is Clay?

Clay is a moldable spreadsheet platform that acts as a middleman or bridge connecting various tools and AI models to automate data enrichment, research, and personalization, ultimately streamlining complex sales and marketing workflows.

Thanks to Woodpecker's integration with Clay, users no longer have to manually upload contacts from Clay. Instead, contacts can now be added to campaigns or the database and moved automatically. This eliminates the need for additional effort to keep your contact lists up-to-date and prepared for outreach.

To fully use this integration, an Explorer plan is required in Clay, and you’ll need the API keys & integrations add-on in Woodpecker.

How does it work?

First, you’ll need to generate the API key in Woodpecker, which is needed to connect your Clay and Woodpecker accounts.

Once it is ready, copy the key to use it.

Next, move on to Clay and create a table or click on an existing one. Click on the “Add Column” option in the table and choose “Add enrichment”.

Here, search for “Woodpecker”. You will have four Action options with this integration:

1. Add prospects to a Woodpecker campaign:

This action allows you to add a prospect from Clay to a campaign prospect list in Woodpecker. You can add prospects that already exist in your database, or ones that do not yet exist. If they don't exist, a new record will be created in the database.

2. Update prospects in a Woodpecker campaign:

This action lets you update a prospect in your Woodpecker campaign prospect list in a single request. New prospects that do not exist in your campaign will be added.

3. Add prospects to the Woodpecker database:

This action allows you to add a prospect from Clay to your global prospect list in Woodpecker. If a prospect already exists, their data will remain unchanged.

4. Update prospects in the Woodpecker database:

This action lets you update a prospect in your Woodpecker global prospect list. New prospects that do not exist in your database will be added.

After choosing the action, you must connect your Woodpecker account with the API key generated earlier. Click on “Add account” and paste the API key into the Clay field.

Map the required fields: Email and Campaign ID are mandatory. You can also map additional fields such as Last Name, City, State, LinkedIn URL, etc.

Save your settings, then click the “Run row” option to run the action and sync it between Clay and Woodpecker.

After adding contacts to the Woodpecker database or campaign, you can update their data directly from Clay by choosing the actions to update it accordingly in Woodpecker.
