Hunter was founded in France in 2015. It’s\u00a0a plugin that helps users find email<\/span> addresses of professionals they want to get in touch with. Hunter crawls the Internet and indexes publicly available email<\/span> addresses.<\/p>\n

Yet, if you’re searching for an email<\/span> and\u00a0Hunter can’t\u00a0find\u00a0it in the database, it will generate the most likely email<\/span> address instead, or it will give you the most common email<\/span> pattern of a company.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the greatest benefit of using Hunter?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:<\/strong> Without an email<\/span> finder tool like Hunter, it would be challenging to find the email<\/span> addresses that you need.<\/p>\n

If you want to\u00a0work with a company, you\u2019d need to send a staff member to the company\u00a0HQs just to ask for contact details. This would be a waste of valuable resources,\u00a0like time, or even nigh on impossible for international companies. So why won’t you use an email<\/span> or a phone instead?<\/p>\n

Hunter allows you to\u00a0quickly find and verify\u00a0an email<\/span> address for a company or website, specify by staff name or positions. Our email<\/span> verification process ensures that the email<\/span> address is verified by multiple sources, so you don\u2019t get bounces and damage your domain reputation.<\/p>\n

How does the process of building a database look with Hunter?<\/h4>\n

To search for an individual email<\/span>, just enter the domain name at https:\/\/hunter.io\/ or specifically enter domain name + name and surname of the person whose email<\/span> address you are looking for. Hunter will present you the most viable options.<\/p>\n

To find email<\/span> addresses in bulk, you simply import a list of domains and Hunter will output all the emails<\/span> found for the sites on that list.<\/p>\n

Do I need any additional tools or add-ons to use Hunter.io efficiently?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:<\/strong>\u00a0You can download our Chrome extension or Firefox add-on. Also,\u00a0if you like, you can use one of our native integrations with popular CRMs. Nevertheless,\u00a0having a CRM is not necessary to use Hunter.<\/p>\n

What kind of information can I actually collect using Hunter?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:\u00a0<\/strong>Hunter crawls the internet and indexes publicly available email<\/span> addresses, which you can then access via a simple user interface.<\/p>\n

With the Domain Search you can find publicly available email<\/span> addresses associated with a domain and, when available, full name, phone number, job title, company name, website, Twitter profile, LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n

Hunter will also show the sources, i.e. where exactly it was found. If Email<\/span> Finder won\u2019t be able to find the email<\/span> address you\u2019re looking for in the base, it will generate the most likely email<\/span> address instead. The confidence score, i.e. the probability of the email<\/span> address being valid, is updated accordingly in both cases.<\/p>\n

You may also use bulk finding and verification or see what\u2019s the most common email<\/span> pattern of a company.<\/p>\n

How many contacts can I have per month?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:<\/strong> There are no limits as to how many contacts you can have per month. Hunter will provide you with an unlimited list of contacts for your email<\/span> marketing strategy.<\/p>\n

How much is it?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:<\/strong> Hunter has multiple subscription options. You can choose from Free, Starter, Growth, Pro, and Enterprise plans. The price depends on how many requests you\u2019d want to have.<\/p>\n

Is there a free trial?<\/h4>\n

Marvin:<\/strong> There is a free plan which includes 50 requests per month. There are a lot of plans that you can subscribe to after you\u2019ve decided to go with Hunter.<\/p>\n

For example, a Starter subscription option if your company is still just starting your email<\/span> marketing strategy. You can, however, totally scale this to as big as an Enterprise subscription.<\/p>\n

Since this interview was taken, Hunter rolled out a new feature – Campaigns – that allows you to create simple email<\/span> campaigns. For obvious reasons we don’t use it at Woodpecker<\/span>, but it’s an important one, so I thought I’d mention it here.<\/em>
