Keep reading to learn how to do that.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s different about\u00a0a lead that submitted a form?<\/h2>\n<p>A lead that submitted a form differs from the kind of leads we usually talk about on this blog.\u00a0Such a lead discovered\u00a0our website on\u00a0its own, browsed our site and left their personal data, willing to know more about our business and the solutions we provide. It took some action, so it&#8217;s not exactly cold.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless,\u00a0it&#8217;s not exactly hot either. We still need to convince\u00a0that lead that we&#8217;re a perfect solution for them\u00a0and warm them up.<\/p>\n<p>We must be careful when warming up a lead that filled out a contact form. If we mishandle the whole process, it will go somewhere else. We need to make them trust us to convert. We need to act fast. And the best way to do that is by\u00a0sending them a timely, personalized <a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/cold-email\/what-should-my-follow-up-email-look-like\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">follow-up email<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Send follow-ups to contact leads<\/h2>\n<p>When was the last time you completed a lead form? Do you remember what happened afterward? You need to be ready to respond as soon as a person\u00a0submits\u00a0a\u00a0form\u00a0on your website (considering those are your business hours). It&#8217;s crucial. If they don&#8217;t hear from you, they will assume something&#8217;s not working.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, you can automatize every step of following up with a cold emailing tool. This way we know where every lead\u00a0comes from until they fill out a contact form.<\/p>\n<h2>Create a lead submission\u00a0funnel<\/h2>\n<p>There&#8217;s a way for you to further\u00a0streamline your work with lead forms, so that you can send personal, fast responses and never miss a\u00a0contact form submission.\u00a0What&#8217;s that method? Creating a lead submission funnel that tells you how to lead the conversation in a way that a conversion is almost guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>But first&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0Inspect how leads enter your website, how they sign up and\u00a0what kind of follow-ups\u00a0there are.\u00a0Can you outline the way your lead has to go through in order to get a reply back from you? Is it customized to each ICP? Is it general? What do you tell those who land on that page? Website visitors\u00a0judge\u00a0the contact form based on the look and content that surrounds it. They expect\u00a0a certain action\u00a0will happen after they leave their contact info with you through the way you present information\u00a0around\u00a0your contact form.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What does your <span id=\"urn:enhancement-37e4c22\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">sales rep<\/span> know about your lead at this point?\u00a0<\/strong>Now, let&#8217;s switch perspectives. What does your <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4cc61913\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">sales rep<\/span> know about those who left their contact info? Could you improve the page with a form so it gives you more information? I&#8217;m not talking about increasing the number of fields. Maybe you need a few contact forms for different use cases? Just to give your <span id=\"urn:enhancement-2937dacd\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">sales rep<\/span> more info. Think about that.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What&#8217;s in your follow up <span id=\"urn:enhancement-ba851192\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span>?\u00a0<\/strong>Read the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-6afbccb\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span>. Is it too generic and robotic? Is it too salesy? Can you be more gentle? Does it follow the rules above? Look at your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/cold-email\/a-little-big-thing-what-do-i-put-in-my-email-signature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">email signature<\/a>. How does it look like? Can you improve it?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Is this a big ask to leave their contact info?\u00a0<\/strong>Now, let&#8217;s go to contact form again and examine fields. Are you asking for too much? Do you really need to know what&#8217;s their company name at this point? Maybe you can get this information from their email address? Make sure you don&#8217;t violate any privacy laws or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/cold-email\/general-data-protection-regulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GDPR<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Check your contact form against those points and outline the journey your website visitor must go through until they get their follow-up.
