It was their first webinar, therefore, the outbound team wanted the audience to be relatively small. We thought you might be interested in watching the webinar and learning more about our approach to list building. So today, we\u2019re publishing the webinar, and at the same time, officially launching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCNN9wM55yaNI-KEZCfh66_A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Woodpecker YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Why we decided to carry out a prospecting webinar?<\/h2>\n<p>When we reviewed our <a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/news\/65-customer-interviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">65 customer interviews<\/a>, it turned out that prospect list building is the most cumbersome part for our customers and they would like to read more on that topic.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why we decided to look into the matter and prepare more content on it. It teaches you where to begin, the tools that come in handy when looking for prospect contact info, and some common do\u2019s and don&#8217;ts.<\/p>\n<h3>#1 &#8211; What to do before looking for contacts<\/h3>\n<p>Luke talks about how to decide which b2b companies to contact and how to identify the decision makers in those companies. It also teaches you how to build your Ideal Customer Profile which will serve as a guide in parsing through the companies you stumble upon and locating decision makers.<\/p>\n<h3>#2 &#8211; Buying a ready-made list vs doing it by yourself<\/h3>\n<p>Luke discusses two approaches to building a list of prospects. He tries to conclude whether purchasing a list of prospects done by somebody else is worth it. Luke covers some of them which are a nice addition to our <a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/prospecting\/where-to-find-prospects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">15 Places Where You Can Find Prospects, Other Than LinkedIn &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One place is discussed at length and that place is Quora. That\u2019s why our outbound team searched through Quora to find prospects interested in learning more about outbound. There\u2019s a separate blog post about it as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/woodpecker.co\/blog\/cold-email\/quora-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How We Asked People on Quora to Join Our Webinar &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>#4 &#8211; What prospecting tools to use<\/h3>\n<p>The later part of the webinar covers some of the prospecting tools that we used in the past. Luke tells you how to use them effectively when building a list of prospects for your cold <span id=\"urn:enhancement-bdf495f0\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span> campaign.<\/p>\n<h3>#5 &#8211; Prospecting do\u2019s and don\u2019ts<\/h3>\n<p>And lastly, There are\u00a0various prospect list building\u00a0things to follow and avoid.<\/p>\n<p>Do&#8217;s<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define your ICP<\/li>\n<li>Cherry pick your contacts<\/li>\n<li>Research them<\/li>\n<li>Verify their <span id=\"urn:enhancement-78b16dc9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span> addresses<\/li>\n<li>If you search for you prospect for more than 5 minutes its best to be efficient and not waste time on finding just that one prospect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&#8217;ts<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buy <span id=\"urn:enhancement-7ed8b9a9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span> lists<\/li>\n<li>Generate lists with a wide array of companies<\/li>\n<li>Give up on contacting your ICP company if you can\u2019t find the best contact person<\/li>\n<li>Generate a list of prospects that have nothing in common with each other<\/li>\n<li>Focusing on the quantity not quality<\/li>\n<li>Sending a campaigns to not verified <span id=\"urn:enhancement-af9aa219\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">email<\/span> addresses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that was it for our prospecting webinar.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s the topic of the next webinar?<\/h2>\n<p>It was the only webinar the outbound <span id=\"urn:enhancement-492b3e00\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\">sales<\/span> team carried out so far but we&#8217;re thinking about doing many more.
