Joe\u00a0d’Elia<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is the main developer. Pardeep\u00a0Kullar<\/a><\/strong> is taking care of marketing and business development. The former\u00a0is Italian, the latter is\u00a0British. Both work from London. A\u00a0perfectly composed duet. <\/span><\/p>\n

I had a pleasure to interview Pardeep. He told me a bit about Anymail finder<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 the tool\u00a0they are developing together with Joe.<\/span><\/p>\n\"\"\n\"\"\n

‘We both code although these days my coding is mostly related to marketing. But that\u2019s a good thing because Joe is around 10 times faster than I am,’\u00a0Pardeep confesses. ‘We came across each other when I started using the original API he had built for Anymail finder.’<\/span><\/p>\n

Below, you’ll read what Pardeep told me about Anymail finder, and a short description of our experience with the tool.<\/p>\n

How would you describe Anymail finder\u00a0in 4-5 sentences?<\/h4>\n

Pardeep:<\/strong> We find and verify email addresses<\/span>. You enter in a name and a domain and we go find it and make sure it\u2019s real. We can find them across the web. We also provide scraped and pattern guessed emails<\/span> but we only count the verified ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the greatest benefit of using\u00a0Anymail finder?<\/h4>\n

P:<\/strong> It\u2019s a superpower. I didn\u2019t really understand what we had built until other people told me how they go about prospecting and it sounded like such a mess. Right now users are finding they have the ability to get in touch with 1000s of potential customers directly using tools such as our Chrome\u00a0extension. I guess the focus is on refining the email<\/span> rather than grinding through prospecting.<\/span><\/p>\n

How does the process of building database look with Anymail\u00a0finder?<\/h4>\n

P:\u00a0<\/strong>The way I use it tends to match existing users. First, figure out who is the best person to email<\/span>. We\u2019ve changed our strategy here a little. It might be that the best person to email<\/span> is an executive and ask them for the right person in the company. Executives give a damn and it\u2019s a good way to tell someone \u2018hey, this exec sent me your details\u2019. Anyway, here are the steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

  2. Make a list of names and domains and save it as a .csv file.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Upload the list to Anymail finder to find the emails<\/span>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Export the results to an email<\/span> follow-up tool (if you use Woodpecker<\/span>, you can export your contact list directly with one click).<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Click Send\u00a0and let the email<\/span> tool do the work.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Do I need any additional tools\/add-ons to use Anymail finder efficiently?<\/h4>\n

    P:\u00a0<\/strong>No additional tools are necessary. What you need is a targetted list of prospects’ names and domains. That’s it.<\/span><\/p>\n

    What kind of information can I actually collect using Anymail finder?<\/h4>\n

    P:\u00a0<\/strong>On the basis of the name and domain, you can collect a verified email address<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    How many contacts can I have per month?<\/h4>\n

    P: <\/strong>That depends on the plan you’re on. The plans start from 200 credits\/mo fo $18, but you can go as far as 10K+ credits if you choose the Enterprise plan.     Charging only for the found addresses<\/h3>\n

    The credits you have on your Anymail finder account will be used\u00a0only if the tool finds and confirms an email address<\/span>.\u00a0Plugins like Anymail finder\u00a0are not 100% efficient, which means they are not able to find all the email addresses<\/span> you choose to be found. The policy of charging\u00a0for the real effect here, and not for the search, takes that fact into account. Much appreciated. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

    The speed of the search<\/h3>\n

    Anymail finder is real quick. A couple minutes tops\u00a0\u2013 that’s how long you need to wait to know if the address has been found and verified, guessed based on a pattern, or not found at all. You don’t need to wait for hours in suspense. That makes your workflow really fluent and time efficient.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Bulk upload of contacts<\/h3>\n

    You can upload a .csv file with names and domains, and Anymail finder will look for the email addresses<\/span> for you. That’s a convenient option if you’re collecting your contacts from places other than LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

    Find other emails from the same company<\/h3>\n

    Say you’ve added John to your contacts. While in the full app panel, you just need one click to get other people’s emails<\/span> from John’s company. That’s a great feature if you prospect within\u00a0ABSD framework (Account Based Sales Development<\/a>).<\/p>\n

    THINGS THAT\u00a0STILL CAN BE IMPROVED<\/p>\n

    Lack of export\u00a0options<\/h3>\n

    It would be great to decide, which contacts\u00a0we want to be downloaded to the csv. For example, I’d like to export only the contacts with verified email addresses<\/span>. For now, Anymail finder downloads all the data of all prospects (even if their emails<\/span> are guessed or weren’t found at all). Yes, in the .csv file you can see which is which, but you need to group them manually and remove those you don’t want in the .csv.<\/p>\n

    Lack of filters in the panel<\/h3>\n

    In the app panel, the contacts appear chronologically. It would be convenient\u00a0to sort them according to names, or statuses (emails<\/span> found, guessed, not found).<\/p>\n\"\"\n

    The effectiveness of the search<\/h3>\n

    I’m not sure what is Anymail finder’s current rate of verified addresses or guesses addresses to the number of searches. But from my experience, the guessed or not found addresses happen quite often. I can only imagine that is this is a really difficult part to improve. I’m crossing my fingers for the guys and I believe this is something they work very hard on.<\/p>\n

    The good thing is, though, the users are not charged for the searches, but only for the verified email addresses<\/span>. So even if sometimes an address is only guessed or not found, you don’t really lose anything.<\/p>\n
